Judit Polgar Tournament
Judit Polgár is widely regarded as the strongest female chess player of all time. Shattering the gender barrier in a historically male-dominated sport, she achieved the title of Grandmaster at just 15 years and 4 months old, breaking the longevity record previously held by Bobby Fischer.
Unlike many of her female contemporaries, Polgár rarely played in women-only events, choosing instead to compete against the absolute best players in the world. During her career, she defeated eleven current or former world champions—including Garry Kasparov, Magnus Carlsen, and Anatoly Karpov—and reached a peak world ranking of No. 8.
